My Style of dunking is just, to dunk as hard as I can. You know most of the times in games I just jump as high as I can and dunk as hard as I can. Hopefully, you know, I can incorporate that into some of my dunks in the contest.
- All 4 videos of each dunker getting invited, and coach/mentor can be found on the new Sprite Slam Dunk page over at NBA.com. The minisite definitely has a “fresh” feel to it which makes sense for a Sprite sponsorship. In case you’re wondering: Brandon Jennings = Daryl Dawkins, Serge Ibaka = Kevin Durant, and Javale McGee = Chris Webber.
- Dain Blanton of FoxSportsWest, asks Blake if he’s got any tricks up his sleeve for the contest.
- Thomas Copain over at Bleacher Report gives Blake a dunk contest like score on 17 of his best dunks this year.
- I asked for it and @DarinMunn delivered. He found the Jimmy Fallon vs. Blake dunk contest and sent me the link. (Should known it was somewhere on the internet thanks to @Jose3030.) You gotta love Jimmy throwing down both “The Businessman” and the “Abbey-oop.”
Update – Two Three more Blake tremors for your perusal:
- Justin Kubatko of Basketball-Reference.com has a great piece over at the always excellent NY Times Off the Dribble Blog on Blake’s big statistical impact.
- Scott Carefoot over at The Basketball Jones breaks down who the top 10 best power forwards will be this month. I think he might have Blake a spot or two low though, how about you?
- The No Look Pass judges the Dunk Contest field. Rey-Rey alludes to what helped get this blog started:
If you haven’t noticed by now, Blake Griffin has dominated talk here at TNLP. If anything, it’s dominated talk in the NBA community. He’s one of, if not THE, most exciting player in the NBA right now. And rightfully so. The guy is a highlight reel in every game he plays.
