Well you’ve all heard by now that our beloved Beard&Blake combo is no more.
We’re sad to see both Baron and the resurrection of his career have been shipped off to die in Cleveland. We are excited to see Mo Williams, along with the return of Eric Gordon hopefully soon, spread the floor out even more for Blake. Not to mention Eric Bledsoe seems to have learned just enough from Baron before he was traded away.
I bet Baron Davis never thought his last pass to Blake Griffin would be through a sunroof #wontneedasunroofincleveland
In other news we have our own “trade” to announce here at QuakeGriffin.com.
On his way out is Mike Robinson aka @MrKnowledgeBomb who unfortunately has to move on due to the good old “real world” covering to much of his plate. He’s been great to have on board for the past month or so and a number of the cool Quake T-Shirts were from his creative mind. Hopefully he’ll find his way back here someday down the road. His new Twitter handle is @TheMikeRobinson and you’ll find him tweeting about his beloved Blazers most of the time.
On his way in, we are excited to announce that video editing wizard Maxamillion711, who you more likely know for his excellent work recently running TheBlakeGriffinShow Youtube page, is coming aboard as the official QuakeGriffin.com video editor. We’ll be launching a new QuakeGriffin youtube page sometime next week, which will be the place to go as soon as Blake throws down another “Quake.”
Lastly if any of you QuakeGriffin.com fans out there have an interest in joining the team here as a “highlight blogger” shoot me an e-mail at quakegriffin[at]gmail[dot]com or drop me a line in the comments.
Blake made his All-Star game debut and didn’t disappoint in his limited 15 minutes of playing time with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. We found out afterwards that Kobe was making a statement to the next generation of All-Stars in Blake and Kevin Love.
For those of you that didn’t see, Dime Magazine had close-ups of the debut of Blake’s new Nike Hyperdunk shoes that are being called the “10.0’s”. As in “Ten-point oh” on the richter scale. I like to think of them as the new Nike “Quake Griffin’s”.
First up are his pre-game interviews:
With Maria Menounos:
With Craig Sager and Kobe Bryant:
And on to the good stuff:
“His first of many All-Star buckets…”
Next Blake hooks up with Deron Williams for a nifty give and go alley-oop:
And his 4th-quarter fastbreak throw-down:

All in all it was definitely a great weekend to be a Blake “Quake” Griffin fan. The best news is there will be more to come!
Blake simply destroyed the competition tonight with thunderous dunk after thunderous dunk. LA is gonna feel tremors for days that’s for sure as all four Sprite Slam Dunk contestants brought it for the first time in as many years as I can recount. Seriously, this dunk contest was amazing and as videos are made available we’ll post them here. Before Blake’s highlights below, a quick recap on the other contestants.
Now for the champ.
Arguably his best dunk Blake opened up with a 360 double cock hammer. Ouch.
Dunk #2 carried on with the theme of the season – Blake helping to rejuvenate Baron Davis’ career. You’d think Baron would take advantage of this opportunity but almost blew this dunk for the whole world. Luckily Blake is Blake.
Dunk #3 could possibly not be pulled of by any other current NBA player. Not only did Blake top Vince Carter 2000. He destroyed it. The self-alley-oop is difficult enough. Then Blake had to go and do this….the best part is when he later shows all the players on the sideline the new bruises on this elbow.
Dunk #4 was hyped on Twitter hours before the actual contest and I didn’t believe it would happen. Oh it happened alright. Blake took the D Howard theatrics to another level – the video speaks for itself.

For all you Quake fans the day is finally upon us. Overwhelmed with anticipation? Kill some of the time today by checking out a few of the following must-do’s on Dunk Day.
A couple compilations of every single dunk Blake has dropped on the league this year to date. First a quick run down from NBA.com as they take us through tremor after tremor.
Next, a slick compilation from Deadspin.com doing just about the same but with an extended flare.
A great find from Conrad: Subway has joined forces with Blake to create an exciting/fun experience for fans, allowing them to “put themselves in Blake’s shoes.” In a nutshell, Blake and Subway allow you to add your face to his body and throw down some of his sickest dunks. It is very similar to Jib Jab if you’ve used that before. Check it out and have fun!
Also – more “warm-up” for tonight during the Rookie-Sophomore Game last night.
If you watch just one thing today go ahead and press play below.

It was an exciting night for the QuakeGriffin.com team as Patrick had the pleasure of witnessing the Quake in person. I was fortunate enough to experience the same earlier this year in Portland but no dunks came remotely close to the pre-All-Star Game show Blake put on tonight. As he mentioned before, Patrick will have exclusive coverage to come tomorrow of this game and more. In the meantime the ridiculousness that was tonight:
The Warm Up
The Devastation
The Obligatory Game Oop
The Final Message to the Dunk “Competition”
A great game for Quake and a big win for the Clips heading into the break.

The Blake Show and Company have lost two tough road games in a row these past couple days. First, on Friday they “helped” the horrific Cleveland Cavaliers snap their ridiculously long losing streak. However, as we get closer and closer to All-Star weekend the Human SportsCenter highlight produced the following:
Tonight Blake just about brought down the house with this lob from Baron – the dynamic duo sent Tremors throughout all of Canada with this beauty.

It looked pretty darn good from the 20th row too. You gotta love the Raptor fan POV along with the Calderon Jersey-wearing fan’s reaction to the turnover followed by Blake-inspired elation.

Celebrating his all-star game bid Quake did not disappoint against the Heat and finished with 21+16 in the Clipper’s loss.
To kick things off his first field goal of the game was this nasty one-hand put back off of the Randy Foye miss:

Another wide open breakaway, another Blake “Quake” Griffin windmill dunk:

And yet another, “Oh what could have been…” (We might need to start a separate page for these “almost” highlights):

Finally here’s Eddie House’s forearm shiver to prevent and Beard&Blake alley-oop. Absolutely unacceptable. It’s one thing to foul him hard when he takes it to the hoop and another to just shove him out of bounds to prevent a highlight.

Make sure to watch all the way to the end of the clip and here the always badly biased Miami Heat announcing team (trust me I was a Heat season ticket holder in college in FL and watched many a Sun Sports broadcast) call it “almost inadvertent.” Get real guys.
As announced on TNT and ESPN Blake “Quake” Griffin has made the Western Conference reserves in his first full-season in the NBA. The Clippers recently posted an official press release and the world is buzzing for what this man is going to bring to rejuvenate the All-Star weekend as a whole.
Looks like we have an All-Star on the cover of our All-Star issue…
Western Conference @NBAAllStar #Reserves M. Ginobili, D. Nowitzki, P. Gasol, D. Williams, R. Westbrook, B. Griffin, T. Duncan
